Ice Shanty Gear originated when owner, Jeff Doty, started the "Doty's Darkhouse Dipper Project.” Several revolutionary products have emerged from this project; first there’s Doty’s Darkhouse Dipper. This product fills the need by Darkhouse Spearers to skim and clear away the ice chips, slush and snow before setting a fish house over a large rectangular or square spear hole.
Second is the Reel Holding System to help organize your fish house, for both permanent and flip over houses. Third is the “Laser” 7 tine spear. It is laser cut, hand sharpened, TIG welded and powder coated; engineered for harvesting fish when you choose to. Fourth is the Decoy Roll-Up; this product solves your sorting decoy problem. It also protects your decoy investment while traveling to and from your fish house.
Today, Ice Shanty Gear’s product line has expanded, offering more than just Doty’s Inventions. We carry and have manufactured outstanding looking decoys, ice tongs and mini teasers.

Jeff has been spearing for over 30 years and hopes all of his products from Ice Shanty Gear work as well for you, as they do for him. His knowledge of winter spear fishing is well evolved.
